Ride with GPS; Strava Routes

Our trip starts out with a short out and back ride towards Black Butte. Relatively flat, we are making sure our bikes all work well as we loosen up after our travel.

Thursday - McKenzie Pass
A -73 miles; 6390ft

Ride with GPS: Group A; Group B
Strava Routes: A Group; B Group

How many rides take you somewhere that’s like nothing you’ve ever seen? McKenzie Pass is not only the most spectacular ride in Central Oregon, it also leads you to a lava-rock moonscape at the top that spreads out before you for miles. It’s stark and barren. It’s awe-inspiring. It’s unlike anything you’ll probably ever encounter on a bike ride again.

But there’s more to this pass than the top. It also showcases forests on both the east and west sides of the Cascades – and after you’ve pedaled through them you’ll know how different they are on the “dry side” and the “wet side.” It also provides at least one lung-expanding climb – two if you do the whole thing out-and-back.

*Note - This ride offers options for turning around earlier if you like, as it’s an out and back.

Friday - Sisters to Smith Rock
73 miles; 2100ft

Ride with GPS
Strava Routes

The Sisters to Smith Rock Scenic Bikeway provides riders with one of the most scenic and rewarding rides in Central Oregon, taking cyclists past historical sites, the gentle curves of the Deschutes River, and spectacular views of the Cascade Mountains.

Saturday - Mt. Bachelor
54 miles; 3000ft

Ride with GPS: Group A; Group B
Strava Routes: Group A; Group B

One of Central Oregon's most beloved summertime bike routes, the Cascade Lakes Loop around Mt. Bachelor is a challenging and visually stunning ride.  Continuous views of the snow-drenched Three Sisters, Mount Bachelor, and Broken Top, not to mention numerous pristine lakes and sparkling roadside streams.

Sunday - Warm Down
25 miles; 1095ft

Ride with GPS: Group A; Group B
Strava Routes: A Group; B Group

A long drive ahead after some spectacular riding, a nice easy flat spin to loosen up before going home. What a weekend!
